Just A Fly Away

Just Fly Away

Migrant birds fly overhead
Honking as they gut the sky
Wind picks up casting debris in my eyes
The sensation burns

Today my heart is lonely
Wishing I could fly away
No destination in mind
Summer is a time for adventure
Creating memories for a lifetime

I hope old age are happy times
And my kids don't live too far
Creating is what I've done
But sometimes wouldn't it be nice just to fly away?
