My Dearest Love:
If the thing we often regret are the things we didn't do, then the one thing I'll never regret is loving you. Telling you I love every time I think of your smile.
You are my old and familiar yesterdays, my new and extraordinary todays. You are everything I've ever desired, needed, or wanted. You are everything life offers. You are both my ocean and my shore, the star that guides me as only your love can. Because only your heart knows how much my heart needs your love.
You and I are on a rowboat floating down the Sacramento under the old "H" street bridge, all the lights in the city are on, in the distance the "M" street bridge waits for us. We spent most of our youth between these two bridges somewhere between Front Street and State College Drive.
It is days like today, my love, when the fire is burning deep inside me. I need the touch of your love to cool me. But wait—your smile is what caused the spark that ignited the flame that started the fire, and I need the fire to exist.
You see, my love, without your love, there would be no need for existence. There would not not be a world to exist in. Everything was built in my world was built for you, and without you, nothing would have gotten built. Only because of you, your smile, your love, is this a beautiful world. You are the cause of all the smiles in my world. Just one more reason I love you more than I can ever tell you.
