[Heading surrounded by asterisks] I THOUGHT HE WAS A FRIEND

I've been writing a guy named Daniel. We've known each other for a long time. He knows that I'm in prison and don't have access to goods like he enjoys as a free person. When I first was introduced to him - he said that if I needed anything then just ask. Well he bought me a fan which I desperately needed. He only did buy me one thing. Then I asked him why he doesn't want to help me out as it was him that offered in the first place. He won't even answer that question. Instead he'll wait till a length of time to pass by then he'll write - and not make any mention to my request. My question is - Is he really even a friend because I think that if someone can help another person then he or she should if it's within their means. What is your thought on this.
