Love Note

My Dearest Love:

Remember when all downtown streets were two ways before the freeways, when all the highways from north to south, east to west ended and begun downtown, when the five o'clock traffic filled our streets day and night, when we would hold one another's hands to keep from becoming separated and being lost. Where we knew the doors to every store, where we had sat in every seat in every theater, upper and lower. People would smile and step aside for the kids from Bachelor's Haven. You were my girl then, you are my woman now. I can still hear the sounds of shoes touching down on hot city sidewalk, the sounds of the cars' neverending horns blowing in unison like the beats of our hearts. Standing on the corner of 7th & 'K', looking downhill into the lower end, watching the friends of our youth just hanging out. Waiting, waiting for you, waiting for me. I still hear the laughter as we start our descent locked in one another's embrace.

I'll always Love You
Forever & Ever
Your Steve
