Covid 19 Taking life for Granted

So I'm sitting in my cell doing life. I'm on my 26th yr now watching the citizens of the world go through this madness. I feel helpless like you all do out there. I want to help people in some way just haven't figured out a way to do so. I watch the news daily but do I truly know what it's like out there? Not likely. I'm watching the interviews with people who are going crazy with the lockdowns due to COVID-19. Sure your citizens are able to drive to the store but back home you go. People are now feeling what life is kind of like for a prisoner. People are going crazy with cabin fever and I know how they feel it's my life, Try doing it every day for going on 26 years and counting. Many many people will see what it feels like to be told what to do. To be told hey get off the beach and go home the beaches are closed. The governor says take it home we're all on a lockdown. I'm not trying to sound or be mean in any way but I'm keeping it, real people. How does it feel to be on lockdown? It's fucking brutal! Isn't it? I'm 50 years old and I've been on a lockdown since Oct of 1994 that's half of my life. I don't take anything in life for granted. Look please don't take this post the wrong way OK. I'm being 100% honest with you. Most people will respect that, respect me? And some won't. Do you want the truth or for me to write and bullshit you? This COVID-19 being lockdown crap will pass but the real question is will people learn from it? I truly hope so. When a person is put in a lockdown situation it will make you think and appreciate life, things more than you previously did. This fucking virus is affecting us all and its worst for some than others. I pray for everyone that it's affected and I pray for it to be over soon and that all of us learn a lesson from it. I'm positive that people will think first and not take many things in life for granted anymore. Or at least I hope so. Just so everyone knows every prison in California is on a modified/lockdown program. Yesterday the tower guard racked my cell door a few inches and a guard walking the tier passed out 2 face masks for me and my cellie. That was quite an eye-opening situation for us. I'm worried about the guards giving my COVID-19. The CA prison system "CDCR" could care less if I catch it, die from it, spread it. If I was to die they would just put someone else in my prison cell.
As I've said in this post I've been down since October of 1994 and just recently a law changed and the courts were forced to give me an attorney to present me. I'm currently in the middle of possibly getting granted a new public defender and a court date at my county of commitment the court where my trial took place. I have a chance of getting out of prison this year if things go my way. Right now the world is on lockdown due to COVID-19. The courts are closed until further notice. Basically the courts will be up and running when the governor of CA, gives them the green light. I'm in the middle of a major life-changing criminal case. I have a court deadline but again coronavirus is happening. So I'm under a lot of stress people. I could possibly be getting a second chance at freedom after over 25 years straight. I have this life sentence and I'm not the trigger man so I have a lot in my place. I've been alone for decades already so I've learned patience but I'm stressing none the less. I'm lonely as hell so if you feel like writing then gt at me on my blog or write to my cell directly here's my hook up.

Howdy Donnie,

My name is Audrey. I hope this reaches you well. I just discovered this program, and your blog was one of the first I came across. I really enjoyed reading your post, and my heart goes out to you. All of us out here are complaining about our lives being interrupted by COVID-19. Your post helped me realize how blessed I am. You sound so lovely.
I am sure you are scared about the guards giving you coronavirus. That is a worrisome thing. I do hope they are doing their best to keep y’all safe.
I am so happy to hear the good news about the public defender. That is huge. 26 years is longer than I have even been alive. I am sure it is stressful since it is such a big deal. How do you deal with your stress? I am terrible at managing mine, and I don’t have to worry about court dates.
I would love to hear back from you. I am a college student, so I am sometimes a little busy with classes, but I have it set up to notify me when you post so hopefully I don’t take longer than a day or two to respond back. But it does say it can take them up to five days to print and mail my post. Let me know if a handwritten letter would be better for you.
Anyway, please let me know of any updates or anything else on your mind. Or if there is something you’d like to know about me or something going on out here in this crazy world! I look forward to hearing from you.

Your new friend,
Audrey
