"FDOC PROPAGANDA"
By Ronald W. Clark jr
I guess you've seen UCI's politically correct response House Representative Hart, to justify Rocky Beaman's suicide. Oh how they praised their medical, mental health and programs?? What programs?! Well lets start with mental health, we've got a psychologist/counselor that no one trust. I tried to speak to him a month ago about mental health of Guillermo Arbelaez, that man didn't want to do anything to help him. My records shows that I suffer from depression and take prozac. My medication ran out over a month ago, and just got filled today! Edward Covington down the hall takes anti depressants, I've heard them skim him on numerous occasions, and then tell him oh, you'll just have to wait til tomorrow. Where is this excellent mental health we have? Oh I know where its at, its in the imagination of this administration!! But that's the onle place it exists!! Cause in "reality," its none existent.
"We ensure all inmates have humane living conditions." In what world? In what fantasy!? This compound houses approximately 2,000 inmates, every dorm out there, has air conditioning or temperature controlled environment. We however live in a human sweet box, that's miserable during these summer months!! We're stuck in a psychological torture chamber! Where the humidity combined with the outside temperature, is in excess of 90 degree's. And look at the established psychological effects.
A comprehensive meta-analysis of the existing literature on solitary confinement within and beyond the criminal justice setting found that"[t]he empirical record compels an unmistakable conclusion: this experience is psychologically painful, can be traumatic and harmful, and puts many of those who have been subject to it at risk of long-term.... DAMAGE." Specifically, based on an examination of representative sample of sensory deprivation studies, the researchers foudn that virtually everyone exposed to such conditions is affected in some way. They further explained that"[t]here is not a single study of solitary confinement wherein non-voluntary confinement that lasted for longe rthan ten days failed to result in negative psychological effects." And as another researcher elaborated, "all[individuals subject to solitary confinement' will... experience a degree of stupor, difficulties thinking and concentration, obsessional thinking, agitation, irritability, and difficulty tolerating external stimuli." Anxiety and panic are common side effects. DEPRESSION, POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER, PSYCHOSIS, HALLUCINATIONS, PARANOIA, CLAUSTERPHOBIA, AND SUICIDAL IDEATIONS are also frequent results. Additional studies included in the aforementioned meta-analysis further" underscored the importance of social contact for the creation and maintenance of 'self.""
In other words, in the absence of interactions with others, an individual's very identity is at risk of disintegration.
These people don't give a damn about one of us taking our lives! And we've got programs and activities to promote personal growth and development?? Where??! That's the biggest bunch of bull I've heard!! I can't believe they would even say that. They can't back that up and support it. We don't have any programs back here. Other than two recreations a week, if we're lucky to get two, that's all we have! And recreation isn't a program, it's an activity. We can't participate in educational GED programs. We can't go to weekly Mass. Oh you can watch it on TV, but that's not interacting with others. And this is a living nightmare!! And anyone who says other wise.....
I'll hold my tongue on that.
Medical its a joke. We've got diabetics who doesn't get proper diets. And every medical procedure...... you've got to fight tooth and nail to get!! We've got two men down the hall, who can't hear and have had hearing aids for years, one lost his hearing in Vietnam, and medical is refusing to fix hearing aids, and is trying to take their hearing aids saying they don't need them. You get a cut, don't ask for a band aid or A and D ointment. They turned me down for that last week. Their leg irons rub the skin off your ankles, you got blood on your socks, and you can't get A and D ointment to keep it from getting infected. In fact, on PA Marin's desk, there in medical, he has notice in English and Spanish stating, "Don't ask for anything that your not there to be seen for." Now does that sound like a compassionate medical department that you can approach or rely on?! Actions speak louder than hollow words, and that sign says it all! So this is fraudulent illusion that they just sold to Representative Hart, well that illusion doesn't have a leg to stand on! Cause the reality of this hell hole, speaks for itself!!!
And what does the FDLE care about some low life death row inmates killing themselves? Do you really think they care? Just one less execution that the state of Florida will have to pay for, that's their way of thinking. They don't care why he did it. They've got better things to do than worry about a suicide. Their just coming in going through the routine paper work.
Yes it's very disappointing when you see and hear the suffering and misery first hand. We need action, and better leadership within the FDOC. And honest leadership! Not someone who's going to give you a politically correct response. And I didn't even touch on the conditions back here. But they'll justify that as well with another politically correct answer, that's as far from the truth as you'll find. God bless you all, and continue to fight the good fight.

Sincerely Ronald W. Clark Jr.
