NAME and NUMBER: GOEHLER, K77832

Inmate GOEHLER, K77832 should be commended for his positive programming during his incarceration at Mule Creek State Prison. I have witnessed GOEHLER'S program since I first arrived at MCSP approximately 13 years ago. He has been working diligently at challenging himself to be a productive member in the prison system. GOEHLER has been a part of working with an outside outreach group and has built many relationships with involved people. I believe his character and actions in prison will transfer into being a productive member of society if given the chance in the future. During my career, I have seen very few inmates who strive to change and work daily to display they have indeed changed. GOEHLER'S behavior should be recognized and documented.

GENERAL CHRONO

After 25 years - and a scheduled release date of 2049 - its remarkable that these (8) points of view acknowledging my distinguished character - a character worth commending for the Parole Board to consider me suitable for an early release later this year, may in fact grant my release.

Achieving this high esteem from Correctional Professionals who have observed my daily conduct over the years means much more knowing it means so much to my family - who may have expected... something else? Please consider all the work it took to merit these acknowledgments as my sincere apology to each of you who I've let down - as a father, a brother, a husband and as a friend. I blew it out there, and I'm truly sorry.

If anybody would like to talk with me - heart to heart - find a way to give me your number and tell me a good time to call you between 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. I would like to make my personal amends wherever possible, if you allow me.

For the Love of Truth.

Memorandum
Date: January 27, 2023

Subject: W. GOEHLER, CDCR# K77832

This memorandum is on behalf of inmate W. Goehler, CDC# K77832. I have known Mr. Goeher for several years now through various self-help groups which I have sponsored or covered for other sponsors. Mr. Goehler has been one of the facilitators in the Criminals and Gangmembers Anonymous (CGA), Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Center for Council (C4C) groups that I run on B Facility at Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP). In the time that he has facilitated in my group he always came prepared and was knowledgeable in the material he was presenting to the group. He is a positive influence for the members in the group when it comes to his recovery and his peers respect him and his opinions on personal matters in their lives.

While Mr. Goehler facilitated these groups he is also a great asset to all of the self-help groups he attends and facilitates. He should be commended for all his hard work and dedication to his recovery and helping other inmates with their recovery and self growth as well. In the time I have known Mr. Goehler I have seen tremendous growth in his character and thought process mentally, emotionally and spiritually. He has been respectful to all staff, his peers and myself at all times that I have interacted with him or observed him in groups.

Sincerely,

NAME and NUMBER: Goehler, William K77832

IP was received into CDCR on 12/18/1997. As a GP inmate, when IP transferred to MCSP B-Yard, he took the initiative to ask for self-help regarding anger management, overcoming depression, and managing anxiety for which he received certificates of completion. These were not required since he was not in the MHSDS. We had met several times to discuss parole anxiety and he continues to consciously navigate toward his eventual parole from CDCR. IP has also completed several other self-help groups and programs as a means of rehabilitation for eventual parole.

The purpose of this chrono is to commend inmate Goehler for the completion of the Alcoholics Anonymous Independent 12 Step Presentation Workshop. Mr. Goehler has taken the initiative to complete the required work, and presented it in front of a group of his peers. Mr. Goehler spoke about how working through the 12 steps gave him insight to his problems, learned how the steps applied to his daily life and recognized how our beliefs, manners and habits need to be changed. Mr. Goehler has identified how the cycle of addiction involving the obsession, compulsion and progression is the most vicious cycle of all and how damaging and controlling it can be.

Inmate GOEHLER has displayed remorse for his past crimes and understands the impact of his actions on the community. I believe that inmate GOEHLER has learned from his poor choices in the past and would be a valuable asset to the local community, as well as his family.
