All In One Night

From Yeah I Said It by Timothy S. Bender (author's profile)

All in One Night

Bright lights, smiling faces. Rosy cheeks, music blasting joyful words expressed in love. Rum and punch. Sweet sugary songs. Toys galore, happy dances. All in one night.

The feast of sure, no one curses. No one fights. No one dies. No one cries. No more lies. No more secrets. No one hurts. All in one night.

One million babies are born. One million angels are singing. Protecting the city. All in one night.

Songs of love are sung with meaning, promises are given. The meanings are heard. Times are fun and laughter is contagious. All in one night.

No tears are shed in poison. Death has no meaning in its purest form. True love expressing itself this day. All in one night.

The pain keeps creeping ever so slowly up and down this dank and musty realm I dome.
In periods of troublesome worries, the keeper waits silently behind the shadows.
Expecting. Mouth agape. Metallic teeth. Piercing eyes seeping into my soul.
Willing to seep its poisonous trap deep within my willowing heart.
My tears of sorrow, the stench of death fills the air; the breath of hate's fear.
Positions itself squarely, always ready to make me its next target.
I hide behind the sigh; the form of my lies.
The blood is spilled, I am no more.
Yet this will live forever.
