PAPYRUS COLLECTIVE

Papyrus collective is an oganised body of California Death Row Inmate writers and artists combining our individual interest, ideas, and talents from various genres or artistic and literary expression to assemble a collection of articles ,commentaries. biographies, and ohter works and projects aimed at communicating informative messages and issues to the public -to the people - to promote social and political awareness, and action.

Our new public forum can be found at WWW.DEATHROWINMATE.ORG(DRI), a grassroots anti-death penalty social network. The Papyrus Collective Forum is the face and voice representing today's progressive-thinking prisoner. A platform open to our collective and contributing writers as an outlet through which to be vocal and visible with relevet and insightful things to say, andprovide an open line of communication inviting family and friends of death row inmates, DRI members, and anti-death penalty advocates, people from academic an lega circles, journalists, and people who are intrested in participating to post comments or questions on a number of topics and/or to any contributing writer.

You can also find our short-run peiodical (zine) series, titled Write or die. Look for our first in what will be a series of zines featuring a unique and creative anthology combining art, poetry, short storie, essays, fascinating facts and experiences shared by our collective contributors. This is a new and emerging era of organising and communicting. Educating and organising - building alliances with online social networks and community organisations - is a part of our agenda.
