Today's 4-20-11. It's about 5:30 PM, and I just go my first letter back from Between the Bars. I was happy to see someone made a comment, but sad that it was only one. So if you are reading this, please let me know what you think and check out my profile. I will only be able to see your responses once or twice a month, so it may take me awhile to reply. Who are you? Where are you from? Have you read my profile? It can answer a few of your questions. I am glad you took the time to reply to my blog
No, I do not have really any contact with any of my old friends or the little bit of family that I have left. The only person I have left is my grandma, and I love her so much. But she is sick and unable to help much.
Other than that, the last couple of weeks have been going slow. Nothing much is going on with me. I have been helping some guys with some paintings for their moms on Mother's Days, and I've been playing handball. It's just like raquet ball but you use your hands.
I've been trying to find something good to read, but I've already read all the good fantasy books they have here. I've been hoping to get a chance to read the Twilight series, but no luck so far.
I would like to thank everyone at Between the Bars. This is a great thing that you're doing. This blog does something great, and it allows me a chance to express myself and have a chance at making a friend without spending money I don't have. Again, I thank you!

I really respect your efforts to stay in touch with people outside the system. I'm a Canadian, 67 years old living with a younger woman and her 12 year old daughter.
I'm interested in the educational opportunities that are available to you there. What kind of courses are you taking / would like to take? My interests are wide-ranging so maybe we can find something that we can have fun talking about.
