Thank you Mrs. Flamingo for your help in bringing my words to the world. I write from the heart and hope by being candid about prisons and prisoners I am able to facilitate positive change in the system and in myself. Your help is invaluable and greatly appreciated.

Hayley, thank you for the compliment. I wrote this trying to open a window for the world to see inside the system, past prisoners' and prison officials' wall of silence. My writings won't make me popular and may even cost me my life, but if it prompts people in society to become more involved in criminal justice issues the result will be worth the price. The fact you took the time to read my words means a lot to me.
