INTERRACIAL DATING
I've seen an episode on Dr. Drew's Life Changers dealing with black men and women dating outside their race. The show was intense and to be honest there was so much tension and bitterness from both the men and women I'm not sure if a point was addressed or processed.
I myself have dated outside my race. The heart wants what the heart wants and in my case there was no race involved with that. I seek a woman who completes me and it doesn't matter if she is black, white, Arab, Asian... it's that completion that satisfies my emotions.
I have felt bad at times though... for example if I were with a woman of another race and I see a black woman getting laughed at I think, "Is that my fault?" When I watched that show on Dr. Drew I thought "Do I have a responsibility to date a black woman because I'm black?"
My woman before I came to prison was black, and she shit on me, but I don't use that experience to say I won't date another black woman. I truly believe race is no issue in terms of love and happiness... What do you think?
