N.1 A Neology by the Author
"PRISON:CIDE AT CHATEAU D'if"

This is a short story/essay with proverbial caveats for the social conscience minds on what's going on primarily in U.S. Prison, especially the Shu & Supermax Prisons.

THE EXPERIENCE OF THE HAR-SI ATEF FAMILY:

1. Meri Har-si Atef always received mail on Monday from her son, Ka-Nefer Har-Si Atef, her only child. She came to be so entitled because this was the pact she and Ka-Nefer made more than sixteen years ago. And he was never tardy unless something had happened to prevent him from mailing out his weekly report home!

2. The next day she received a phone call that both she feared receiving. Yet it gave her answers to the questions that terrorized her all day and all night, that she needed to both still/steel her worst fears.

3. He was not dead! But he was in a bad state. A day after he had sent his last letter, the prison he was in. The dracon (warden, "Tiffy Harnes" And a few of his procrustians decided they would make life hell for Ka-Nefer at Chateau D'if in Scamboscobel 'yes-cowsin. An extra security facility. Warden Tiffy Harnes, well informed about each one of the prisoners from the high intensity profiling they did. And personal dossiers they complied. It was not much they didn't know!!!

4. Meri Har-Si Atef often visited her son. And was almost always addressed in a hostile fashion by the Chateau D'if administration. And the visits more often than not were intentionally interrupted by some of the Scamboscobel (city or town names) attrition program.

5. Inflict pressure and pain! A future deterrent they call it. And word of mouth among prisoners "Scamboscobel is hell". So notorious did the name become, that prisoners would commit "prisoncide" to avoid going there. The warden was a trained social-psychologist and had Masters in philosophy. He was proud to let people know his major achievement in getting that degree, was the paper he had wrote on the scientific philosophy of Nicolo Machiavelli's doctrine of "Exitus Acta Probatus" (the end always justify the means).

6. And this was his unofficial policy and approach of dealing with prisoners. To him, they had no constitutional nor human rights! The moment they stepped foot in 'Scamboscobel', those terms ceased to exist. While at D'if, the only rights they had were the ones granted them. "D'if rights", they were called.

7. "Scamboscobel" of "D'if" was a new prison. Twelve years old. And they had six unexplained deaths!!! Written off as prisoncides and poof health. Prisoncide, was a neological term authored by a human and prisoners right advocate and activist name: Murid Al-Shafi.

8. It defined from the far extreme, to the incidentals, psychological effects that prison contributes slowly over time, to the diminish capacity of the prisoners! Due to the wear and tear it has on the Chiffonic Fabric of the human psyche.

At its extreme, prisoncide was the result of the psyche-incinerator! The psyche-incineration of conditions, treatment and time! Directorship was perfecting!!!

9. A way to not only decrease prison intake, boast its adherent practitioners, but kill (they used more ambiguous expansions such as, incapacitation, retribution) of long times! "Lifers"!!!

In essence, drive the prisoners crazy! Or mentally unstable! And the body will soon come or circumstances happen to perfect that end. i.e. suicides, suppresion murders by staff on so-called rebellious prisoners, or as Murid Al-Shafi calls it, "prisoners fighting back against draconian policies and conditions.

10. Ka-Nefer (Kamit for: "Beautiful Spirit") had extreme "Parcopresis/Paruresis" from the time he was able to understand and use the bathroom by himself. Many of vacations were canceled or plans changed or adjusted to accommodate his condition. His disability was only a problem when certain conditions made it a problem. And what alternative remedies and choices were available to him to work around them.

11. When Meri Har-si Atef learned the warden had intentionally placed a high intensity camera in Ka-Nefer's room, she knew this would only exacerbate his disability and send him on a range. They had done it to Ka-Nefer off and on over his twenty years at Scamboscobel.

12. Ka-Nefer had not been eating for six weeks and he had slipped into a coma. His brain was eating itself or burning up from lack of fluids and nourishment.

13. Warden Tiffy Harnes was bold enough to brag about how he and D'if will not tolerate any form of prisoner dissent. They don't have a privilege to dissent against rules! The prisoner who's in a coma (he intentionally never use given names. He would refer to them "abjectly" like they were sticks)-did it to himself! He has no privacy expectations in my prison!!! So he basically committed suicide when he stopped eating!!!

14. The interviewer in an effort of correcting him asked the warden if he meant: "attempted suicide?" "No he's dead! The body is just not dead. Just a case of strong organs, biology that's all. Wasting more tax payers money keeping him on the machines probably!"

15. Even some of the harshest pro-D'if politicians thought the warden had gone too far with his insensitive comments on the radio show. And should show respect and consideration for the family of the prisoner.

16. He refused to backtrack his words.

17. Meri Har-Si Atef heard his comments the same night Ka-Nefer died when reporters played them for her.

18. She said she will see that Ka-Nefer receive justice!!! Even if she has to employ "Exitus Acta Probatus".

19. I studied machiavelli in college too!!! I also studied the complete historical account on the Medici Clan and Carl Von Clausewitz!!!
