From Anthony Peete:

Hello again world. The question was asked do people that make horrendous mistakes in life ever deserve a second chance at life, live and everything else in between or just a chance to right their wrongs if possible?

As I continue to contemplate that thought who truly cares! Since I've grown to learn or so it seems people in prison ain't nothing next to dead people. Yet contrary to popular belief I am not an animal I am still human. Trust this isn't "Pandora's Box." I got no game it's just some people understand my story. You can't see it thru the computer but I'm (LMAO) right now because that's the truth that sums me up. I've grown to realize life is about minimizing one's regrets so I didn't slay myself I learned just because I hate where I am, didn't mean I had to throw away my future. I have experienced a lot in order to get to this plateau in my life. Now I don't claim to have all of the answers for what the future holds, yet I do believe the sun is somewhere shining even when it rains.

I guess my story is easy to follow, no pressure, no additives or fillers here it's just what it is. With that said, instead of trying to fascinate you with all of the best lines I can think of I'll just put myself right in front of you in words. That way I know I'll only attract people that fit me. I've never seen anyone finish reading a story that they couldn't relate to or that simply bored them. My life didn't start in prison so the biggest part of me is still free with derailed dreams and hopes. Since that part of me that you see is in prison I guess I have to start the story there for you. Though just so you and I are on the same page I was "18" when I came to prison. A typical male for the time and place not living for tomorrow thinking I had all of the answers to the puzzle of life.....

You had me reading all the way to the end but... there IS no end... I'm waiting patiently for the next installment :)

I have a short answer to your question... I believe, yes, whole heartedly that people deserve a second, (or third, or fourth) chance; some are slower learners than others but we should never give up on each other.

Since you referenced Pandora's box I feel the need to share with you that I live in the part of the world where the Pandora came to grief on the Great Barrier Reef when it was in search of the Bounty (of mutiny on the Bounty fame). We have a live replica of Pandora's box in our local museum (that's your useless fact for the day ;)

I would also like to suggest that not all readers are ignorant enough to believe you lived in a vacuum before you were sentenced at 18; I for one believe the story began long before that... we've all come from somewhere and are all a product of all our life experiences. I realise this is an older post but I hope you start writing again.

Take care.

Nicki
