Shelter from the Storm

Maija Nykol Minor has a mother who cannot stand her, a father who is too caught up in his own life and everyone she meets seems to have it out for her.
Maija struggles to make it in life at the tender age of fourteen. She ends up in various situations that would devastate even a grown woman. Maija is forced to make decisions no one her age should have to make. Instead of tearing this child down, it hardens her into a young woman full of bitterness and mistrust until she goes to her father's mother.

Nanna Nonna seems to be the only person willing to take the time to shelter Maija from the storms of life that her mother, father and many others take her through, while facing a decision no mother should have to make.

Nanna Nonna has to decide is she willing to save her son who is lost and caught up in a life that will lead him to prison or worse, and turn against this lost and lovely child who needs her. The decision is the hardest she has to make, but she has to decide. One night the decision is made for her.

Will Maija keep trying to find her own way or will she accept the shelter that Nanna Nonna is offering?
