Bloggers,

Hey, what's up? This is Jason. How are you doing? Well, today is my day off from work so I'm just relaxing in the cell today. On my days off, I just like to kick back in the cell and catch up on stuff. Today I went through a lot of my old paperwork. I wanted to find a poem that I wrote years ago, and I found it. So here it is.

A Lifer's Wish

Soar through the skies with me and imagine the experience of a lifer. The heartache. The sadness. The joy and the smiles. Looking for friends to write letters and send pictures of the forgotten outside. The clear blue sky. The ocean spray in the air. As I enter yet another year of my life, patiently waiting for a letter from somebody who would be part of my life.

I wrote this poem about a year after I got to prison. I had just come to terms that I would be in here for a very long time. But you're better off realizing that right away, so then you can start to live your life in here. I will get out one day, and, when I do, I will cherish my freedom and never take it for granted.

Okay, well, I just wanted to write and say hi. Hope you write me back. Tell me what you think about my poem. And remember, my address is on my profile.

With respect,
Jason
