Normally I try to laugh at the tragedy going on around me. It's better than crying. I won't try to do so for this subject.

I was in a sheriff's dept. car on my way to court when the two older deputies + I heard about the bombing on the radio. There was mention of 3 fatalities, but no mention of the number of injured. I learned about the latter in a seg-unit newsletter.

It seemed like a sick practical joke, because the blast only killed 3, but blasted the legs + limbs off of dozens more. What worse way to insult marathoners?

Massachusetts has been good to me + prisoners in general. Not just BtB but Lucy Parson's Bookstore's Books to Prisoners program + other admirable progressive human beings. I am deeply saddened that your state was subjected to such terrible degradation, yet I fear that these words serve no help. If I can in any way be of any more substantial help, please let me know.

To the victims, the injured, I urge you to not give up, to get well, as well as you can. Regardless of the extent of your injuries, the world needs all the human BEINGS it can hold. Don't quit. Don't leave me alone. I wish you all well.

Sincerely,

Nate
