The 5th of July

The day after the fourth or for most of us the big clean up. I remember when I was a young kind the excitement of the fourth of July and looking forward to the BBQ and fireworks. Man was it a fun, and just like with anything in life there are always two sides. Waking up the next day to find the whole block covered in trash and remnants of the fireworks covering everyone's lawns, streets, driveways and side-walks. I would really hate having to clean it all up. I look back and see now that it was one of my first life lessons.

This fourth of July wasn't as fun, no fireworks, no BBQ but no big clean up either. That's all right I talked to my family and everyone was safe and had a blast now my lil brother and son are having to go do the big clean up. I smiled at the thought. So it comes full circle.

Thanks again for taking time to read this... Please feel free to give me comments or feedback or to share a story of yours...

Sincerely,
Dustin Kelly

I read your blog. Does it warm your heart to know your son is out there making 4th of July memories whether it's a BBQ, fireworks, & family, or even the aftermath clean up? Logan & I went to work together & went to the family's cabin in Shelton after we got off. I'd have to say the highlight was kayak racing with Logan, my lil sis, and her husband. We made smores & had dinner & came home & lit off a few fireworks. It was fun & I love when I can actually get some of Logan's attention....ya know teenagers are pretty busy doing a whole lotta nothing :0) Hope all is well with you. I will talk to you soon.

Some times it takes us to be locked up or go thru some bad experience to realize and appreciate the beautiful things in life. I find my self getting caught up in the stresses of life and when I sit back and focus on the good things it makes it easier to deal with the other stuff. Always count your blessings!

Hello Dustin. I read your blog posts and really enjoyed them. My name is Alyssa and I am asking a few people on the betweenthebars.org blogs some questions for my own research and was wondering if you would answer them if you felt like it. What are ways that some men deal with missing women in prison? Do you think men change not being around women? If so in what ways? How do you think this affects them when they are released? How do men deal with their "needs"? Do you think men become more reserved or dont know how to deal with a womens "touch" when released? ;) I just want to hear your input on this out of curiosity. Speak your mind. You don’t have to hold back. Nothing will offend me. Haha. I would love to maybe see a blog post about this too. Thank you. Hope to hear back soon:)

Send a new picture also if you have one. I would love to see you post more blogs as well;)

I also see your address has changed since the last time you have posted. Hopefully between the bars will send it to this address.
