The New Walk Project Part 2
By Floyd Smith

The pitch here is that The New Walk Project proposes to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to take a step into this new era where no one has the luxury of not preparing a new generation of incarcerated inner city youth with relevant skills to provide a smooth transition back into society and further into adulthood.

We purpose the creation of a new trade tech skills training project that offers certification, specifically to create a new workforce that will learn to assimilate the mechanized parts to produce what is commonly known as the Bell and Howell Charge (see getcharger.com).

The Bell and Howell Charger is a mini-solar powered portal that is so small it easily fits on a keychain. This mini-solar charger provides a source of clean and renewable energy that can operate walkman type CD players, gadgets like mp3 players, nanopod music players, and small transitor am/fm radios.

Inmates all over California and other states are allowed to purchase and operate most of these items, even while participating in outdoor exercise yard and recreation. The greatest reward of an inmate owning a mini-solar charger is that not only can it operate most gadgets from any light source, but the cost of repurchasing conventional batteries becomes virtually obsolete.

Most parolees experience that they are unable to find jobs in society with outdated prison skills, especially in a society that has moved forward in science and technology. As the younger prison population finds that most prison trade skill programs boring, and a lot of self-destructive behavior continues to dwarf the growth of the obvious underrated levels of talent and tech savvy potential of the younger prison population of a new generation.

a.) We are proposing that prison officials invite the partnership and consignment agreement with The Bell and Howell company at getcharger.com. This new partnership can promote prison involvement with the clean energy movement of our time and, equally as important, Bell and Howell's patent can be used to have a direct positive effect on the portion of a United States society that will respond to this opportunity to evolve incarcerated inner city youth.

b.) We propose that prison industries authority provide adequate space inside of institutions for inmate sign-up, enrollment, employment, and production of this revolutionary product.

c.) We propose that prison education departments offer certification specific to the science and arts for every inmate that completes the multi-level studies and skills training for this amazing project.

d.) We propose prison canteen departments to contract and develop a consignment agreement to sell the Bell and Howell mini-charger in the prison canteen, where inmates will be able to purchase a product assembled by themselves, their homeboys, associates, and former enemies.

The ultimate projection for this project is that this can be a vital transitional period of preparation in the Calsep-California Solar Energy Project that is specifically designed to transform each California prison into a self-contained solar power energy project (See Calsep Proposal).

Embrace solution based ideas.

Thank you for your time.
