Dear Readers,

Howdy! First, I want to wish my very best friend, Pamela, a most happy + special birthday! I love you, Pammy!

Well... what's going on? I had a stressful day at work. I'm an orderly in "North Carolina" unit. I mainly clean the windows + kill extra time wiping down the walls or whatever. one of my co-workers is a huge rat who loves to talk about people + get them in trouble. I had words with him today + feel a target on my back.

On the plus side, there's a guy there who's really nice (an inmate who lives there). I actually kissed him yesterday - which is so rare in prison. I "might" have done other things too <wink>. He's only here for an evaluation + will leave before long, but I'll enjoy it while I can.

Also, some regular readers may remember some drama about a loan check which I had been waiting for months ago + it was canceled, etc. Well, yesterday I finally got another check! Yah! Somehow it made it thru to mail to me - normally if a check comes, the mail room is supposed to take it out + send it to the Business Office. Thank the Goddess they didn't 'cause the business office held the last check for a month before they sent it to be endorsed. That's ridiculous. It'll still take 2 weeks to clear after they process it. I'm so glad it's here. I'm already planning on how to spend it. I'm awful! I'm addicted to shopping. I do plan on buying more yarn to crochet, but I need Pam to find somewhere to sell stuff so I can pay this loan off!

I'm currently working on making a sweater with a skull + crossbones on it. I haven't done this before, but it'll be SO COOL if it turns out right. I previously made hats with a skull + crossbones, with a spider, + with an anarchy symbol. I like stuff with an "edge". On the other hand, I also have some nice purses with flowers on them. They're really nice/

I have another yucky project to work on - a legal case. I received 2 "shots" (incident reports) at the last institution + was found guilty of both, of course (that's the way it works naturally). Among other sanctions I lose 2 weeks' worth of "good time" for each shot, so my sentence was extended by a month (or rather, my time behind bars).

One shot was for helping a legally blind inmate with his email. I lost 2 weeks of my life for that. I was accused of using his email by 2 counselors who testified that they saw me! Wow. Since the BOP has complete access to every keystroke on their own in-house computer system, I'm asking for proof that I used his account. I didn't. There isn't any. I did help him - he's legally blind! Hello! And for that I lost 2 weeks.

The other shot is because a C.O. said I was sitting in a hall + refused to get up. A lie. I was squatting on my heels with a group of other inmates, many of whom were in wheelchairs + walkers that took up much more space. When he told me to get up, I did. I presented a witness statement to the court to support me, but the BOP had previously found me guilty before I was able to find a witness, 'cause they locked me up in the Hole for this. Oh, at the time I was taking shots for liver disease + was sick and the hallway was very hot 'cause the A/C was broken. In any case, the C.O. lied about my refusing to stand + I lost another 2 weeks.

In both cases I took this to a district court to fight this + of course the court, based solely on the BOP's filings, found me guilty. I am appealing their bogus decision in the court of appeals, but my prior experience has shown that the appellate court normally also supports the BOP + the lower court. It's bullshit! This is why I am burned out about fighting the injustice in the system.

Take care, y'all, + many blessings!

Love,

Kelly
