"From Both Sides, Now"

The myths about sex offenders: the stranger danger myth is still prevalent. Ninety percent of sex crimes are committed by relatives, friends, or other known persons. I am presently incarcerated. There 64 inmates in the cell block. There are 28 child molesters and 34 nonsexual criminals. Twenty eight sex offenders have plead guilty in criminal court for sexual crimes they committed.

My daily interactions are breakfast, lunch, and dinner, watching, listening, talking. Each offender has to admit to his crime before entering treatment. Each defendant has to account for every factor that in the past contribute or may contribute to the likelihood of offending.

Sex treatment program is to help defendants identify their offense. Each defendant tease out remarkably detailed incident of each step in each offense, including the defendant's behaviors, thoughts, and feelings at each offense, as they unfolded. The purpose is to generate a single prototypical simple offense that will serve as an example for the sort of manipulative strategies the defendant uses along with the thoughts and behavior that accompany the crime.

In this blog I do not intend to minimize the harm, the pain, the horror, or the long term consequences of sexual exploitation, violence, and pedophilia. Prostitution of children, internet enticement, and child pornography sex offenders have caused terrible long term suffering for children, juveniles boy and women.

The daily reading of pornography magazines after treatment group is over. The Department of Corrections allows to come through the mail. These magazines seriously impede their goals for therapeutic progress.

* More, sex offenders come in and out for treatment. I hope I have given some insight on the thinking of sex offenders to help you understand how to protect your children.
