Where is the Love?
Where is the love? That's what I find myself asking. Because for some reason, in today's society, it is lacking. I find it especially lacking in the churches and Christian community. The one place that love, mercy and compassion should be prevalent. Yet it is absent - replaced with judgment, hate, contempt and condemnation. So where is the love that Christ commanded? Surely not in the minds and hearts of today's Christian.
This is a very brutal world, that we live and die in. It always has been, and my guess is it always will be. Yes - unforgiven, humanity shot to hell, replaced with self-preservation, lust, greed, me, me, me. Love your neighbor as yourself! Are you kidding me?! That doesn't fit into today's sick twisted mentality and incivility of our society.
Love, compassion and mercy is very inconvenient! Christ commands are extremely inconvenient and overbearing, which is why people throw out his commands and serve Christ on their own terms. Yes - they give Christ the ULTIMATUM, my way, or the highway. I proclaim myself a Christian, on my own terms, not on yours, Christ. And that's the problem with today's churches, and the self proclaimed Christians that fill them. They have thrown out Christ's commands, trampled them underfoot, as useless, overbearing, extreme commandments. But it is written, "many shall come, but few shall be chosen", so it's no big surprise that the true love is absent in today's churches and society. For those Christians who say, I'm judging them. I refer you to Matthew 18:15-17, for I find fault that you are sinning against your neighbor, and trampling the commands of Christ underfoot, treating the blood of the covenant as worthless trash! For Christ said love all, see Matthew 5:43-48, so, "where is the love?!"
God bless
In peace + love
