RE: Evening Raid, Extra Clothes

Around 8 PM, a bunch of guards came into the unit. I could hear them opening cell doors and pulling out prisoners. It sounded like a "pod raid". But they usually don't come around this late at night, so it's kind of unusual.

Then Sgt. Moore came in and told us that they were going into the cells and taking any extra laundry. He said how much of each we are required to have in our possession. When asked why they were doing this, he said that they don't have laundry to issue out.

Which is a load of crap. They have warehouses full of new clothes. Instead, they circulate all the old, ragged clothes for years and years. White T-shirts are now gray or brown.

I believe they were looking for something to hassle us with because the regular unit floor officers search the cells and confiscate extra clothes regularly. We know that the prison administration is under a lot of pressure. They know that it's much more serious now because they have the government on their ass, and they've said they are not going to let up till changes are made.
