Dear Rita,
Howdy! A big hug to you!
You got the four-leaf clover? I'm so glad. I hope it brings you luck. And thanks for the birthday wishes.
I have not gotten your second letter and am not happy about that. The mail room here is awful, and I've had problems with them before. In my latest posting, you'll read that they rejected some magazines of mine.
Yes, I was able to read your letter just fine and am glad you could read mine. Of course, it's the same writing as this blog...
Yes, I am part Native American, Oneida and Cherokee.
I am so very sorry to hear about George. My heart breaks for you. That's awful. FYI, the federal system, which I am in, usually requires you to complete more of your prison time than a state prison, which George is in, and we have no parole at all.
The US legal system is a load of crap. I'm sorry to say that those people who decide our fate are often inhuman. All we can do is hope that karma catches up to these people and they get what they deserve. We can also hope that the laws are changed, but I don't see that happening. Unless the government goes bankrupt, I don't see any incentive to release people.
You're reading an old posting about my being in the Hole. It's months old. I can write from the Hole as long as I have stamps.
I think it's about two weeks, more or less, from the time you place a comment until I receive it, but I'm not entirely sure.
I hope you have a great visit in the US. Be sure and tell George I send my best.
As for books, they have a small library here on the compound, and we can request one book per month from the local county library. Plus, if I can afford it, I like to order books from a book company. There's one great discount book company, Edward R. Hamilton, which I especially love 'cause their pieces are great.
Take care of yourself. I'll send you some good energy—and to George too.
Hugs,
