Staff Assault

At the beginning of November, we had an officer that was stabbed by an inmate that was being escorted. Allegedly, he mysteriously unlocked his handcuffs with a homemade key and viciously attacked.

They did a revenge-type search of the four buildings and charged every inmate if he was in possession of altered state property. $49 for a mattress, $200 for a pair of boxers, etc. Now here's the catch: inmates are not issued mattresses. They are in each cell when he is placed in the cell. We are supposed to fill out a slip of paper that is a lieu against his account. If the material gets altered, then they charge. But they did not follow protocol. 90 percent of the mattresses were pre-ripped beforehand.

Still, they wrote everyone up and when you're found guilty of the infraction, they also suspend store privileges, TV viewing, and yard privileges. And this is exactly what they did.

It was pure hatred punishing over a thousand men for what one man allegedly did. Our families send that money so inmates can buy things they need that the prison does not provide. Why should our families suffer too?

I think some of the employees should be laying on a mattress in the same manner as we are. Don't get me wrong, some officers are decent folks but the tyrants seem to cloak honesty here.
