RE: Article From ACLU in Newspaper (Post)

I was reading some articles regarding the hunger strike and the Pelican Bay SHU. The article was written by a representative of ACLU. This person was talking about the long-term effects of solitary confinement. The ACLU was saying that they've filed a lot of civil actions around the country to improve conditions in prison systems.

Well, that may be true, but I can say for a fact that ACLU has never did anything for us. I personally wrote their offices many times since I've been in Pelican Bay SHU, and so have a lot of other prisoners. The ACLU always refused to help us.

Now that Pelican Bay State Prison and the rest of California has been put under the magnifying glass, all of sudden ACLU wants to take credit for helping prisoners.

it damn sure wasn't around here. We have been going through hell for twenty something years, and the ACLU ain't did nothing to help.

But now we have legal organizations across the globe wanting to help. All of sudden, ACLU wants its voice and name mentioned. That's a sorry excuse of a legal organization. I just want that to be known.
