Redemption, ltr.46 "If I ruled da World"- by Nas Lauryn Hill

I want to pay respects to a great man who led the way to
democratic rule that transformed lives of blacks being denied citizenship in
they own country by a minority white government, an a extraordinary man
Nelson Mandela led a struggle for freedom that mirrored that of Martin
Luther king Jr. and Malcolm-X, because in 1960, the racist government opened fire
on black demonstrators in Sharpeville, South Africa, refusing 5,000 people to
protect "pass laws," as 69 blacks were killed and 200 injured in the incident,
before he was sent to prison in 1963at age 44 on trump up charges of
trying to overthrow the racist government, Nelson Mandela had remained
in prisons for 27 years, often under severely harsh conditions, an hearing
about the Regina mundi catholic church in Soweto, South Africa that offered
anti-apartheid activist refuge from police bullets and tear gas during another
racist attack made by the white government famous in the 1976 uprising
in which thousands of students protested and more than 100 died, living in a
system much like America, in which blacks could not walk about freely
or visit friends in other places, because the government kept track of
their every move, not providing them electricity or plumbing, because
black people could only be teachers, police, nurses, or be domestic workers,
until today, more people in South Africa can go to college with scholarships and
choose their own career paths, as Nelson Mandela has made everything
possible for a country being oppressed, fighting the struggle with anc,
before being released in 1990 after years of civil protest in South Africa and
everywhere else worldwide. It's many people didn't know about the racist
apartheid system in South Africa, was much the same as slavery in America, that
extends back to the beginning of white settlement in South Africa in 1652, making
laws to restrict black African land and other laws prohibiting most
social contracts between the races and racial segregation. I can't help but think,
that all whites applaud that he is now passed away, not showing respect to
this man, because Nelson Mandela became a worldwide symbol of resistance
to the injustice of his countries apartheid system, an that South Africa is
still under the same racist system, as when it all began, an nothing has
changed until we take back our motherland...
