RE: Canteen Items And The Next Part of Step Down Program

Greetings.

Today we received our canteen orders, and all of us were waiting to see what the new items would be like that were added to the list this month.

I didn't have enough funds to order too much, so I ordered the most important things I needed which was the plastic cup. We were all glad to finally have one to drink coffee out of, or Kool-Aid. Yeah, it doesn't seem like much to you all out there. You didn't go without one for all these years. I also got me some lotion. We ain't never had any lotion here. My skin was always dry, and I put some on me as soon as I got it. It smells real good. Everyone got some. Next, I ordered some Louisiana hot sauce and some chili peppers. Man, we ain't had any in so long we couldn't wait for our orders to get here.

I told you they don't give us any salt or pepper. Everything is pretty much one bottle, so we have to use it sparingly. I think I can deal with that. I really wanted to get a jar of mayonnaise, but I didn't have enough. Nor could I get a bottle of mouthwash and other things. But that's okay. I'll get them later.

We were surprised they gave us the bottles. They have not allowed us to have any plastic materials for over twenty years, so you can imagine how happy we all were to be treated like human beings. Again, it probably doesn't seem like a lot to people out there, but it's a very big thing for us.

They are finally selling real food on the canteen. Tuna, sardines, etc. so we are really happy.

Enclosed is the next part of the step down program.
