A Matter of Perspective
3/22/2014

I am lost and will never be free
And I refuse to believe that
I can fight my way to freedom
I know this will surprise some but
"Freedom comes from within"
Is a lie, but
"Revenge is sweet"
My family must believe
They are not the most important thing in my life
The state will know
I have my priorities straight because
The state's revenge
Is more important than
Family
Once upon a time
Families stayed together
But this is not true in my life
You have to conform to fit in
The govt. says
I have to rebel to live!
I do not accept that
I will live in a word [world] of my own making
In the future
Destroying the family will be the norm
No longer can it be said that
I care about this world
It is obvious that
I am lost and full of hate
It is ignorant to believe that
There is hope!

Hi Scot!

I really liked this poem of yours. First, I found it a little strange... but in the end it all comes together. Smartly done :)
