Greetings To All From Texas

Greetings to all from Texas,

It`s nothing new what has occurred in Oklahoma, it is no the first botched
execution either. In fact David Atwood - found of Texas coalition to abolish
the death penalty just listed a long laundry list of botched executions in
Texas. It is a fact the malfunctioning lethal injection process has occurred
several times in decades. (see Kpft prison show archives). Kpft.org
it has just come to light in the national arena as the chemical issue has
been pushed by the folks who watch the use of this draconian method of
punishment, for errors. All every are watching indeed.
It is symbolic of the veil being lifted - but moreover it is a perfect
example of what these states will do if anything malfunctions... the curtain
is drawn. Hiding the truth from the public.
We still have only half of the information about what occurred, ode to this poor
man who suffered. His fate would of bee worse serving life. I speak from
experience after 16 years sitting here.... death is sweet release from this
slow torture. Life or Lwop is worse ( than laying down to go to sleep).
But having a massive heart attack induced by unlicensed, unregulated, and untrained
people who administer the injection, is very unprofessional to say the least.
Inhumane - with all the false appearances of a sterel medical procedure these
executioners had nothing in place to undo or reverse their mistake.
A human being squirmed tensing against the restraints in agony as his veins
burnt with fire inside. He spasumed, it was cruel and unusual punishment and
it is uncontrollable. His 8th amendment rights pursuant to the U.S.
Constitution were violated... as he suffered in pan for 35 plus minutes,
but it was shrouded in secrecy as the curtain was drawn.
It`s time to lift the curtain - let the whole process be transparent. Nothing
legal occurred in Oklahoma - this is why Oklahoma is not executing people
for the time being, as is the case with Ohio. How many times would a plane
have to crash before we grounded it - halting it`s use? What value we put
on one life vs the life of a condemned man. Jesus Christ was a condemned
man. Are we the same civilized society that yelled crucify HIM!
It's time for change, as an advance civilised society with technology to keep
people secure and the dangerous away from society. The use of the death
penalty is wrong, it reflects poorly on USA. We are in line with China, Iran
and others who brag about it's use. Leaders of the free world - we hail to
be... but civilised and with the times? Trend setters? I would hope America
can step up to the plate and show the world it's lead, by doing the right
thing.
Scaremongering, hate, revenge, retribution and the call for the death of us
people on the row - solves nothing. Respect for the views of the victims,
the death penalty fosters a lingering pain cycle that hinders healing.
To settle the sentence - life or lwop and enable people to heal, begin to
move forward. I know I wish this for the people involved in my case. It
is easy to go on assumptions - a lot of people are misinformed about the death
penalty.
An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind...

In struggle for abolition
