The forgotten terror attack

Pg. 1.

September 11, 2015

The 14th anniversary of the September 11, 2001
terror attacks has arrived. Millions of Americans are
having memorials celebrating the lives of those lost
on Septmber 11th. Which got me to thinking about the
terrorist attack in Tulsa, Oklahoma n Jun 1, 1921.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the attack, in
1921, here's a brief description of what happened:
"Black wall street" was the name fittingly given
to one of the most affluent all Black communities
in America was burned to the ground by the infamous
"Ku Klux Klan". In a period of 12 hours, a once thriving
black business district in Tulsa, Oklahoma was destroyed
and a major black economic movement resoundingly defused.
This night left some estimated 3,000 African
Americans dead and over 600 succesful business lost.
The muders of an estimated 3,000 Americas
appear to have been erased from America's terror
history. The Ku Klux Klan terrorized and murdered
thousands of innocent African Americans. This was
clearly a terror attack, domestic terrorism! But I
guess this act of terrorism does not exist in the
world of the mainstream media. I guess this attack

is insufficient and unworthy of a nationally televised
memorial/anniversary. Which is a sad reality! This
attack has been somewhat swept under the rug. There
is little information readily available. During my
research for this post, I looked in "The World
Almanac Book of Facts" and found, the September
11th attacks well documented, but I had trouble
finding anything about the attack on June 1, 1921.
The only mentioning of the attack on Black wall street
was located in the Oklahoma's state history section.
The sole sentence stated, "In the early 20th cent., oil
funds brough wealth to the Tulsa ares; the Greenwood
section of the city, then known as the "negro wall street",
was devastated by a white mob, 1921." No mention of
the murders of thousands of African Americans, thus
clearly a gross understatement of what occured in
Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 1, 1921.
I find it very sad and disturbing that in 2015
America still has not nationally recognize or memorialize
the lives lost in Tulso, OK in 1921. The horrendous
murders of African American has become an after
thought for most Americans. Truly sad!
But today, those poeple who perished in Tulsa,
OK in 1921 are remembered by US. "Rest in peace"!
I ask everyone of you to take a moment of silence

for those people who lost there life on June 1, 1921,
September 11, 2001 and for all the people around the
world ho have lost their life to senseless violence.
God Bless All of You!.

Stay prayed up!.

Sincerely yours,

Perrie Thompson
