Today is super Tuesday. A day where voters in several states vote for who they want to represent their party in the national elections for the next president of the United States. This presidential race is a total fiasco! I can not believe this is happening in our so- called civilized democracy. If I did not know any better, I would think this was all some big joke. But the reality is, one of these unqualified people, in Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump will likely be our next president.
Let's put this in perspective:
Donald Trump has made it apparent he is a profound bigot! He continues to attack minorities and Muslims, coupled with his unprofessionalism, clearly disqualifies him from being commander and chief. Ironically, he continues to win state after state in the republican primaries. A clear indication bigotry is thriving in America. Republicans will likely nominate Donald Trump, a man who initially refused to denounce the endorsement of former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke. Trump only denounce Duke's endorsement after public criticism. Even if Trump is not elected president, minorities should not ignore the fact, Trump's success in the primaries illustrates millions of Americans are on a mission to reconstruct and avow white supremacy!
Hillary Clinton is no Donald Trump, however she is equally unqualified to be president. Hillary was terrible in her position as secretary of state. Further, I also believe she is a terrible role model for young women. During her tenure as secretary of state, the middle east erupt into chaotic desolation, notably, the rise of the barbaric terrorist group "The Islamic State". Hillary's incompetency also lead to the murders of several Americans including an American ambassador, when terrorist attack the United States embassy in Benghazi, Libya. A terrorist attack that Hillary initially told the public was not a terrorist attack, but a spontaneous attack fueled by a film that depicted the prophet Mohammed in a negative light. Hillary's attempts to deceive the public, was an attempt to cover up her failures to protect Americans in the United States embassy.
Hillary is also attempting to appeal to young women as this strong woman who can lead the world. Hillary quietly accepted her husband, former president Bill Clinton's publicized affair with white house intern "Monica Lewinsky". She also quietly accepted Bill Clinton agreeing to pay "Paula Corbin Jones", $850,000 to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit. A strong woman would never accept this tremendous degree of embarrassment and disrespect. Hillary's acceptance of her husbands actions is a terrible example for young women. Her acceptance may lead a young woman out there to believe that she should accept a disloyal, dishonest, disrespectful man. When all women should know they deserve a loyal man who will respect her and their relationship or marriage, Hillary Clinton does not embody these principles!
Unfortunately, Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton will be our next president, a scary reality we will likely face. Let's just pray we are able to withstand this blow!
Up until recently, I believe the United States really believed in basic human rights. I accepted the United States as the world police. Five years ago, I would have rejected the notion that the United States would sit back and watch a world leader commit genocide. But this is exactly what's going on in Syria. Syrian dictator Bashar Assad is brutally annihilating thousands of Syrians. Assad has used chemical weapons again civilians, including children! The United States appear to have forgiven Assad for these unthinkable crimes again humanity. Since Russia entered the conflict in aid of the Assad regime, there has been no more calls from the United States for Assad's resignation. It is as in the United States has accepted Russia now as the world's leader. If Russia say's Assad can stay, he can stay! Is the United States scared of Russia? It sure seems like it! I just pray the United States wakes up and deploy what ever aid that is needed to Syria and stop these atrocities as soon as possible.
On February 13, 2016 United States supreme court Justice Antonin Scalia passed away. May Justice Scalia rest in peace! Justice Scalia was described as the intellectual anchor for the originalism and textualism position in the court's conservation wing. Scalia's passing could lead to historic changes in the Supreme court, if President Obama's nominee who is likely to be a liberal is confirmed. Giving the liberal wing of court the majority. Republicans have vowed to prevent this from happening by not giving Obama's nominee a hearing in congress. Republicans again obstructing Obama from doing his job. I hope voters hold these congressmen and women accountable for their non-sense come mid-term elections. For now I hope Obama is somehow able to get another liberal in the court who will hopefully come in and help reform our broken, prejudice criminal justice system!
