Dear Readers,
I know it's been some time and inside a place like this writing does not come as easily. Events come like clockwork each and every day. Mostly the same and not much is inspiring. We deal with so much our schedules, routines and attitudes that surround us, learning to deal with them accordingly and looking for creative and positive ways to do time fill our days.
Writing others helps a lot and hearing from them makes it easier. I not only write to give you a picture of what it's like on the inside, but to have your responses and feedback, to meet someone and create a new friendship. Spark up a new idea of what it is others would like to know. I figured most would value knowing there is still compassion in the hearts of some. The desire to want to make their lives better and, no matter the situation, we aren't a bunch of animals. :) My name is Teddy, so I guess I'm a bear, but I'm not the criminal you'd predict.
Sometimes I feel treated in such a manner but mostly I'm treated well.
And yet we still have feelings we're human and still hurt. I head something the other day by an officer. She was eating ice cream and another said, "This ice cream sure is good," he'd comment. "Yes, it always tastes better when you eat it in front of inmates!" I was the only one there. I was angry and hurt. What did I do to deserve this? No matter how nice and helpful you can be, some can't look pass the white prison uniform! I can't go back in time to change my decisions; I can only make my decisions better in time.
Write and let me know what you think. I'd prefer to hear from you personally, but, if you're skeptical, you may comment. Just make sure to keep checking in because I will reply. :)
Enjoy your read and have a wonderful day.
Sincerely,
Teddy Drake
