CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORMATION

It has taken decades, but finally it appears the reformation of our failing criminal justice system is under way. In the past few years historical laws have passed that significantly upgraded our criminal justice system. These laws include, the groundbreaking ruling issued by the United States Supreme Court banning mandatory life sentences for crimes committed by minors. Our lawmakers have finally acknowledged institutionalizing our citizens is not the solution. This acknowledgment will lead to laws that will focus more on rehabilitating our troubled citizens, instead of caging them for every mistake. I am hopeful and optimistic about the future of criminal justice in the United States. The United States proclaim to be the world's leader. The United States can demonstrate their leadership by, reforming and creating a just, impartial and rehabilitative criminal justice system. We need more transparency!
California is leading this effort to reform our criminal justice system. Year after year California has passed laws that open doors for several people who would have spent their life in prison, had these law not passed. I thank and commend Gov. Jerry Brown and all California lawmakers who contributed to the passing of these laws, especially these involved in the passing of Senate Bills 260-261. I will like to also thank attorney Elizabeth Calvin, Scott Budnick and the Anti-Recidivism Coalition. None of this would have happened if it was not for your relentless pursue of justice for those of us who was denied a chance to prove rehabilitation is authentic. For the role you all have played in the changing of these laws, I believe you all deserve humanitarian awards! Thank You!
I can not close this post without thanking two very beautiful and intelligent women who have touch my life more than they will ever know. Attorney-Professor Heidi Rummel and Activist Charity Chandler. You two diamonds are truly amazing! God blessed the earth with the creation of you two. I love the both of your lives. You two are the best role model for all young women out there! Thank you Charity and Heidi for all the amazing work you do for us! Huges & kisses!
Please continue to fight for us and we will do our part and demonstrate we are not the unsophisticated sociopaths that we are often steroetyped as.
