I know... free drugs in co-ed prisons? And now we're gunna be raising puppies too? You just gotta love liberal democracies! Now there is something I can do too [written as "t" with the "oo" forming the eyes of a drawn smiley face] as a puppy whisperer.

Attaching the POOCH application for y'all to see. I'm not dying of boredom silently here in purgatory! Be it teaching thugs to think, or creating a commotion to draw attention to the hostile Muslim chaplain here. At 53 yrs, I'm approaching my 20 yr mile marker in prison still living life as if I were 30 yrs old, stirring it up.

It's going to be interesting to see if this opportunity to domesticate puppies actually serves to domesticate me. The irony of it is... ludicrous. The apparent futility of enabling my own species has enabled me, and now - domesticating creatures may just finally domesticate me too!

Life is a trip, isn't it? Anyone care to order a couple books off Amazon or somewhere, pointing out puppy training techniques I may share with others?

OPERATIONAL PLAN# 169
Attachment B
The Prisoners Overcoming Obstacles & Creating Hope (POOCH) Program
Inmate Trainers Questionnaire
6-7-16
Inmate's Name William Goehler CDC# K-77832
The Questionnaire is for the sole purpose of matching trainers with appropriate puppy/dogs.

1. Have you ever had a puppy/dog? Yes [circled] or No
2. If you have owned a puppy/dog, have you trained it yourself? Yes [circled] or No Explain: Family pets as a kid, basic obedience training: sit, stay, shake paws, etc. - Beagle/Springer Spaniel. Adolescent kid trained kennel "Guard Dogs" - Shepherds mostly.
3. Have your experiences with puppies/dogs been positive? Yes [circled] or No Explain: Is it possible for anyone applying to ever answer No? Of course my experiences are all positive! 20 yrs in prison now, one of the things I miss most is puppy breath.
4. Are you willing to take on the responsibility of a challenging puppy/dog? Yes [circled] or No
5. What is your expected release date? Never! Consecutive 25 to Life x 2
6. Why are you volunteering for this project and what do you expect from your participation? I've spent the last 28 months establishing a Scientology group here at A-Facility, endeavoring to present an opportunity for all involved to develop responsibility for the condition of existence within their zones of influence. I believe the penological system must evolve into a new era of restorative justice which will actually rehabilitate the ability to be responsible, rather than to continue simply warehousing criminals. This POOCH program seems to be a practical means of doing just that, while also contributing to citizens in need of service dogs. I am an ideal candidate for this POOCH program I think; either as a dog handler, facilitator or consultant. Puppies (as well as prisoners) are social animals which function optimally in any group of two or more with a common purpose. When that purpose is work (i.e. the use of effort), the ideal conditioning will appeal to the playful relationship of being Cause and/or Effect. Communicating the effort involved determines which roles are played in the group dynamics. Obviously, as a SNY Prisoner (11 of 19 years) here at MCSP, it's evident I don't function well with the bestial prison thug purpose - yet my C-file reveals a number of LTAG certificates/chronos substantiating my effort to contribute to enabling cognitive 'purpose' in group settings ~ as does my efforts these part 28 months to introduce Scientology technology here. I have been disciplinary-free more than 5 yrs; I'm 3rd watch Yard Crew. My work and personal ethics are exceptional; I've been single cell these past 28 months; I apply myself to philosophy, religious, social studies, and I'm currently involved in several correspondence courses (Houses of Healing / Criminon / Scientology); I draw and write; And of course I enjoy instigating responsibility. I think Sgt. Priest probably knows me best, if you'd like a character reference from staff. And Tracy Scott knows me pretty well too, if you'd like a prisoner's point of view. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. I truly would like to help ensure the success of this program.

Thanks for writing! I finished the transcription for your post. Good luck with getting on the POOCH program. I hope it works out well for you. Your comment about puppy breath made me smile. I miss that too, although I have only been without my dogs for a decade.
