Hi Van. I'm sorry to hear that your man is in Ad-Seg. I just received your post. I don't know if it was a type error, but the date is from August 2014. If it is an old post and it just caught up with me two years later, I hope you and your man are doing okay. And that he's out of Ad-Seg now. Is he?

I just got moved back to the SHU in old Corcoran. I was at SAT-F for 19 months in Ad-Seg, and it was a truly new experience for me. And I imagine it's the same for your old man. But at least he has you. Your letters will keep him going, and now they are allowing phone calls for some inmates. The visits are behind glass like the SHU, and only for an hour. So depending on how far away you are, it may be somewhat of a hardship.

Corcoran SHU has not changed. They aren't up with the changes like Pelican Bay SHU and most Ad-Segs. I've been here over a month and still have not received my property. I've had to borrow these envelopes and paper.

I don't know what your old man is in Ad-Seg. for, but he needs to start thinking of you and his family. And realize that you should always come before his friends. Some of us come to prison and end up spending a lifetime behind bars by getting involved with people we don't even know. When we're young, we think it's all fun and games. Until we're sitting in prison for thirty-five years. And it's harder on you and the family, mothers and kids especially.
