12 In a Box

Confused looks when you look around this quiet room
You start to notice that you're not going home anytime soon

You look scared 'cause all you see is one color
That color is pink and you are the only brother

Here comes the big dog, and all you do is stare
You start to get butterflies 'cause he got way too much power up there

Discrimination lurks around; it's all around the globe
But it all starts here: with the pink guy in the black robe

You sitting in a brown chair, shackled from head to toe
Can't get out of this mess 'cause you don't have enough doe

You exhale and realize: it's gonna be a long drawn out day
Start picking the jury whose on the side with the DA

They start picking people, first it's one and two
A couple didn't qualify, and they got rid of a few

They sit in a box: now it's three and four
A couple walk in, and a couple walk out the door

You pick a couple more: now it's five and six
They put on a name tag and in a tiny box is where they sit

The box is almost full: it's now seven and eight
Nine, ten, eleven, twelve; and in the jury room they deliberate

They come back in the court, then the verdict is read
Reads out the word "guilty" off the words you said

You threw your life away like a dead body over the docks
Your life was in the hands of the 12 pink people in a box
