NGR Verses: Chapter 2
Aiyana Jones: Channels of Dreams
Channels of dreams
sleeping not,
merging side by side of
flashes of awakenings
blinking, flickering brilliance
from your smiling eyes
good mornings, forever.
—Xzyzst
Philando Castile: Digital Scroll
Digital scroll
upload your last breath
into eternity
all seeing eyes glossed
in real time
Queen Shero of brilliance
our princess of many lessons
in the rear seat
as another driven king
exhales his last into
the new digital scroll.
—Xzyzst
Lin "Split" Newborn: No Longer Gone
Sun books and thorn brooks
screaming in a loud voice
Complex cities, solar illuminated
the opiated sings with a proud choice
Never traversing the night
to the light of the dawn
never-ending struggle and fight
until you are no longer gone.
—Xzyzst
Alex Nieto: Loved
Actions contrary to its salvation
ignorance is willing to steal you away
Terror is not bait for the fasting
and now there's a price ot pay
Critical tensions integrated
bodies through souls
Love knows no hatred
and hatred must never know
just how much you are loved.
—Xzyzst
Seville Smith: Stay With Us
Don't go, my soul,
Stay
Inherit this castle
built by your hands
Don't go, my soul
Stay
Remain the actual
designer of plans
Don't go, my soul
Stay
Refuse this world to grieve
Don't go, my soul
Stay
Please continue to breathe
—Xzyzst
Oscar Herrera: Mesmerizing Best
Rushed you to die
before death has come
Spirits sustains no lie
until we all become one.
One, again, in truth we rest
in power we live, one,
as one, at our mesmerizing best.
—Xzyzst
Mieah Johnson: Revolution of Love
Revolution of love
only conceding to dimensions
of our minds which justifies
our aspiration to remain so
ever so connected to you.
Attending not the contradictory
aspects of an obvious assassin
innermost dispositions of untruth.
For revolution of love
out of love for you
the revolution continues.
—Xzyzst
Tanisha Anderson: Divine Aesthetic Serenade
Time from time we
wrestle not your elegance,
from realms of magnificent
enters, amidst owing you,
your honorable embraces
of your divine aesthetic serenade.
—Xzyzst
Anthony Hill: Blood, Flesh and Tears
Assimilation into the divine
absolutely impossible
as you have already assimilated
your divine wealth into us
Where do we go from here?
We've only touched blood, flesh and tears.
Without you, for without you,
the rest of us are just
blood, flesh and tears.
—Xzyzst
Laquan McDonald: Young Flash
Intellectual rationalizations
have filled the skies
so we enact love tales
as love swells, fills our eyes.
Quickened paths in all of your
inner transitions of self creations
far beyond what is now left.
To rationalize my eyes with lies
thus, hypnotize my ears, to deaf.
Because I don't want to hear it
Your black life matters in spite who fears it.
Intellectual rationalizations fills the skies
We enacted love tales
as love swells, fills our eyes.
—Xzyzst
Alton Sterling: Museum
So we put this casket
made of mirrors back into the ground
to sprout again, because the fact is,
Alton Sterling is also Michael Brown.
Have we not grieved Tamir yet?
Have not the police relieved their fear yet?
I hear your seed sobbing,
moaning and groaning, he's too young to know.
Bullets and flesh and blood on a street curb,
our earth can't absorb the nerve
to make anything edible grow.
So along with hatred,
pain and frustration, starves together,
where Earth has become the only place
in the multiverses where we can't see stars together.
So we put this casket
made of mirrors
into a museum.

Tell Xzyzst that I enjoyed the Volume III zine that you sent. I found the conversation on the Zande Warriors interesting. I wonder if Xzyzst has found examples of homosexual women in history. The artwork is awesome too.
The Soul Sessions open mic that I went to was a lot of fun. There was a dance battle, poets, and other types of performers. It feels good to be surrounded by creative people. I really feed off of that positive energy.
Here's a rough draft of the poem I've been working on. It's called Queen.
Don't you know the worth of a woman?
Did you forget that the queen
gave birth to the prince before he became a king?
She fed him from the nipple of her breast
and comforted him within the shelter
of her arms. Wiped his tears away
when he cried and nursed his fever
away when he was sick.
I guess you forgot.
Her value has been forgotten
she's been minimized to a baby momma,
a weaker vessel, an emotional wreck,
a sinful temptation, just a woman.
How could you turn your back on a woman?
I guess this is how God felt when He/She/They created us, molded us from the dust
and blew the breath of life within us
and we humans forgot our origin, our roots,
our beginning in the universe.
Instead of honoring the creator and protecting creation, we destroy it, reaching for bigger and better, and more greed, instead of the beauty in simplicity.
No wonder why you don't know the worth of a woman. You don't even know a creator when you see one.
You have no respect for creation.
In case you didn't know,
I'm a queen.
I gave birth to the prince
before he became a king.

Tell me what you think. How can I make it better.
I'll send pics soon!
Love Always,
Safiya :)
I'm sorry that I'm super late in responding to you. I'm glad you got my pics and you liked my poem! I got Xzyzst's letter too. Tell him that I will look into those books by Gloria Wekker. I also enjoyed reading his poem King. My favorite line is "I know we spoke the Universe up together..." I'm going to transcribe his poem on here and I'll print both King and Queen so that I can mail it to you. Also, Xzyzst said that your friend Julia is also helping with the project. It would be nice to meet her. I'm glad that you two have extra help!
I think I mentioned everything that I wanted to. If I think of something I forgot I'll send another message.
Love Always,
Safiya
