Within This Cell

Within This Cell

Within this cell
exists concrete and steel
No roses to spring up
or aphids to chew the stem
Here misery runs amok
like Captain Cook's ship
All are guilty
and held in prison mire
a moat for some
where drawbridges don't exist
Filthy blues are a reminder
where all children of the state
doomed to an unmarked grave.
