In The Land Beyond Forever

In the land beyond forever
exists a place
where I long to go
a place of simplicity
where all hidden secrets
are known
such as my heart
her pain
her pride and the tears
hidden just behind my eyes

Unwelcome, in the land
I am
it's too far away for
me
Doesn't she know
I'm already alone
her only enemey
she shoots at me with malice
and leaves me for dead
then wonders so boldly
why I have vultures
in my head
Such tormenting monsters
they circle round and round
eating my light and
leaving me hollow...
In the land
beyond forever
a place I can't see
It's a place I used to picture
a place I created for me.
I offered her my life
a life with me alone
yet dejected
she rejected
a place to call home.
Can she see the coldness
I've become
how the ice on my heart
is freezing the land beyond
Forever is so far
too far
been far
for me to reach
the pain in my eyes
blinds me to such things
I ache to see
her through the clouds
yet, she brought the storms
and drowned me out
In the land beyond forever
there is no more me
snuffed out
when she refused to fight
my world was ripped apart
with the fire in her eyes.
The bullets are fatal
as she fires from the gun
I can't get up
to tell her to stop
knowing she has won.
In the land beyond
forever
I wish I could go
but instead here I am
the wretched untold.
