TRIBULATIONS
OF A
GETO KID

A COLLECTION OF POEMS BY AN INNOCENT MAN ON DEATHROW

Ojore Dhoruba Khafra Ajamu

"TRIBULATIONS OF A GETO KID"
This collection of poems convey the journey of Ojore, from Newark, NJ, to incarceration. These are poems about growing up in the streets: loyal and not so loyal relationships; the failings of the police, the legal system and the joys of being alive. He celebrates his family: the warmth and love of his mother, Aunt Sista, grandfather and his pride in his daughter. He looks beyond his own life to his deep connection with others, be it's the Tuareg people of North Afrika, or the earthquake survivors in Haiti. Challenging and moving, these poems ask us not only to review the conviction of an individual and the preconceptions we have about equality in our society, but also to find a profound reverence for life itself.
Ojore is an Innocent Man currently stranded on Death Row, at San Quentin (California, USA), seeking your Support for Life, Justice & Liberty.
