Dear Readers,

Howdy!

Thanks to all the readers who sent their kind support to my best friend, Ben. I did get a letter from him (yah!) which he sent through a relative. His description of Ft. Dix does not make it sound appealing. He misses it here.

I failed to previously mention that we had our Gay Day this past June. This is only the second prison I've ever heard of that has a Gay Day. It's officially called "Diversity Day," but, honey, we all know it's Gay Day. They had various prison bands playing during the afternoon and a few games, etc. It was nice.

I had mentioned a pen-pal recently that I should devote some time on here to talking about: Kevin (KP). Kevin is a hot mess. I mentioned him briefly last December as KP (?). He will tell you that he is the prettiest boy on the compound. He really is. Kevin is around 6' tall, 180-something, tall and slim. He's got short-banged brown hair and brown eyes. He turned 27 last month, but he could easily pass for 18-21. He's got flawless olive skin with a boyish face and has a ton of tattoos (and is getting more as time goes by). He is so damn cute. I do have a picture of him, but he's got a dumb smirk on his face and the picture doesn't do him justice.

He's also a total whore and a thorn in my side.

We're not boyfriends (he just walked in here after I left a note on his bed chewing him out).

Back on track.

...And sometimes I wonder about our friendship. Goddess, he drives me crazy. He lives in my unit, and we've hung out and sometimes "hook up" since he got here last November (?). He was in the Hole right after Josh got here. He's always in my cell bumming for something—stamps ("money"), food, or just whenever he needs attention. And he nearly always gets it. He's just so damn cute and sexy and manipulative—and I'm just so damn weak. Yes, I said it: I'm weak and he plays me like a fiddle.

And I'm not the only one on the compound. He'd have more if he really tried, but he can be a real asshole when he wants to, and I'm sure he gets what he wants from his current "victims." =wink and smh=

He's asked me before about moving in, and I've told him no 'cause he would drive me nuts. He helps himself to anything in my locker as it is. I'd have nothing if we actually lived together. Plus, he is such a BRAT! Jeez...

Oh well. That boy sure is pretty.

I may have previously mentioned that one of my typing jobs is for a guy here who is writing a book. I'm about halfway through, and it's actually a good story. It's set in South America, and it's an adventure story about some guys who find a lost Inca treasure, and different groups are currently maneuvering to acquire it. Anyway, he also has a children's book that's currently available at Amazon. It's called Kippie the Christmas Kanagroo. It's cute. It's about a kangaroo that helps Santa Claus make toys. If anyone's interested, please check it out! (https://www.amazon.com/Kippie-Christmas-Kangaroo-M-Terrell/dp/1539301656)

We're stuck in our units today (Wednesday). They're having some BS pat-each-other-on-the-back-day for all the staff. We had our regular pancake Wednesday breakfast with some extras like hardboiled eggs and fried bologna. Then, around 10 AM, each unit filed through the chow hall and got big paper bags with boxed stuff for lunch and dinner.

I'm grateful that we're not locked in our cells—yet;(it's almost 12:30 PM.)—but so far, we're stuck in the unit. Ugh. Oh well. At least I can catch up on writing, right?

Oh, by the way, this past July 15th was the 14th anniversary of my arrest. I've been locked up now for 14 freakin' years and still have nine more to go. And then what do I have to face? Being a senior citizen living on the streets with nothing.

I remember hearing in the past about people getting out of prison and then going right back again, and I used to think, "What a loser." Well, now I completely understand it. I have no support, nowhere to go, and there's nothing for me out there for me.

All I want is to leave this horrible country but, with no money, that's gonna be tough. I just want to go away from here.

Anyway, until next time, I wish you...

Love and blessings,
Kelly
