Hi, Samara.
I got your post, and I thank you very much for your support. I'm elated to know that my story has inspired you and your boyfriend, and that it has made you both aware of the injustice that takes place within the criminal justice system and the belly of the beast (prison).
You know that, regardless of my circumstances, I still have the freedom to choose which attitude I'm going to have to make it through the day. Every day that I wake up inside the belly of the beast (prison), my mindset is to be proactive, positive and kind to my fellow prisoners and even guards. I don't spend time worrying about things I have no control over, and I try to be proactive in those things I can control.
