Could somebody help me to understand why Washington State Prison and Metro State Prison was closed only to be reopened to men in the state of Georgia? The women has only Whitworth, Emmanuel, Pulaski, and Alto State Prison. Whitworht and Emmanuel are like pre-release institutions. The main prisons for women, Alto and Pulaski, are getting too filled up. Not enough beds. Overcrowded. Troubled inmates that are closed security.
Metro State Prison was the institution for the up. Why didn't it get reopened for the close security female inmate? cannot say. The staff are the problem because the male inmates are theirs. They have to have guards. The male inmates have almost 40 prisons in the state of Georgia. Why couldn't the female close security not be housed back into Metro State Prison?
