Congratulations on your accomplishment. Spirituality [understanding] is the respite... the sanctuary... the freedom... in a world full of incarceration... physical (jail, prison, home detention, work release, transitional, supervised elder care, memory care units, state psych hospital, private rehab, crisis care), mental (mental illness or addiction) and emotional (verbal, physical, sexual abuse, bullying).
Only in spirituality [understanding] may one look beyond our focused viewpoint and see and feel the plight of the other in such a way as to submit to the law of love. That is to put others needs in front of our selfish (often materialistic) needs.
To achieve your goal in spirituality [understanding] is laudable. May you continue to move forward in your quest to see God, even in the most trying of conditions.
Hebrews 13: 1, 2, 3.

I truly do appreciate your acknowledgement, sir. I'd like for you - and others reading this - to consider what you term as Spirituality. I instead apply the term Understanding.
The physical, mental and emotional traps in life are all caused by some type of inability to Understand.
Holy men in their "spirituality", praying for that terrified lil girl Helen Keller (1880-1968), never quite worked - for her - as well as the struggle involved in trying to help her understand her environment.
Without a doubt, in a world of incarceration, the struggle of trying to help the disabled - become more able TO BE Responsible for their decisions in life - fully requires the helpers to submit to the Most High, Agape, lest we all become trapped in the struggle as the only thing we understand.
Know this sir John: Hurt people hurt people! Helping people transcend the F.E.A.R. (False Evidence Appearing Real), and PAIN of learning from experience, can seem traumatic at times. Alas, the struggle. Understanding Spirituality.
Be blessed.
PS. Please tell me what Luke 12:1 means to you.
