"CAN'T"
I've heard a lot of guys say we can't accomplish this or that. And to that I say, can't never could do a
damn thing. For can't was defeated before it tried. That word can't, is a word I truly dislike. Because its
a word for those who don't won't to try. Without failure, you don't understand and appreciate the true
exhilaration of success. We all fail and fall short in life. But it doesn't mean you just give up and quit.
No it means you fight harder to succeed.
A lot of people have been commenting about what I've been writing, and about how brave I am and that
more people need to do this ect. Its true most of these guys fear retaliation. And their not going to speak
out or try to bring about any change. I've come to expect that. Guys are solely focused on Me, Me Me!
Rather than trying to do something for the over all good of all of us. But its not just the guys in here.
The visitors, I've heard them ,make comments, I'm not fighting for anything else, because no one else
will do it. They don't appreciate it ect. That's just another excuse to lay down and not stand up for
what's right. What's right is right, and what's wrong is wrong. You don't need other people to validate
you, and what you stand for. You don't need praise for doing what is right. Sure its nice, but the
accomplishment from achieving a goal, that's a joy that you find from within that no one can take, and
you'll always have. Each journey starts with a single step,some times its your step, that leads others to
take their first step. Actions always speak louder than hollow words. Many talk the talk, few will walk
the walk. When someone sees you standing up, for the struggle for what is right, it has the possibility to
cause a chain reaction. Yes actions speak louder than words. And can't...yeah it never could do
anything. Your one perosn, and you can make a difference!! Do you want to make a difference?Then
stop with the excuses, and do it! We need change, and you can be a major factor in bringing this
change,and revamping the Florida Department of Corrections. Some can, some can't some will some
won't. I can and I will! What are you going to do?
