Gov. Brian Kemp Statewide Budget Cut

If the economy is boom like the consumers said. Why is we cutting budgets? However I am happy that money is going towards education and teachers. But I have a questions where is the lottery funds going? I thought that was for education funds. Pell Grants and Hope Grant etc. There is a budget that needs to be discussed it called prison budget. Georgia has 48 prisons including detention center that housed state inmates. Here are the facilities we have in Georgia.

I don't understand Georgia has 48 facilities. Each one house inmate that cost almost $200 a day for one inmate in Georgia. So tally the total for each prison. Billions and billions of dollars. Where is the money going? Surely it's not going on the officers, staff at the prisons of the inmates instead the State of Georgia every chance given try to make more money off inmates any way they can. Inmates in Georgia prison like Hebrew slaves mowing grass, prison industry, sanitation and floors and the kitchen. Especially audit time. Because the warden's want their prison to be a show case. If the staff pass the audit, you may get a bag of popcorn, soda, and more, But now we are not even getting any incentive out of inmates funds. Guess what the money our families send into our accounts $1 is taking.

Back in the day the inmates in Georgia. When they was rewarded. Wanted to do better. We had irons and iron boards etc. Our clothes are washing the laundry as well ironed if they have a officer for our laundry. We keep seeing cuts of jobs. People force to be officers that are needed in other position. Every time there is a cut in Georgia. It always hitting the prison. But the state of Georgia wants to keep looking people up. Not because the crime rate is actually high, but because the money from the prisons is benefitting somebody's pocket. Majority of Georgia citizens are locked up. A lot of these cases was rushed through the corrects. District attorney and Public defender all they care about is getting them locked up and throw away the keys. Life and liberty is not important, fair trial or due process is out the door. Money is more important in Georgia! Other state pays their inmate Georgia is pocketing their money for their use.
