Though I hate to hear I've shamed you into anything (I'm sure that was never my intent!), I'm so happy to hear from you again!
My comment about "accelerated human progress" didn't sit so well, eh? For me, it was the first idea to pull me up from despair and abject pessimism after the state began scheming in earnest to murder me a second time. It was a glimmer of hope to erode my conviction that there was no point trying to prolong an existence as decrepit as this one or to bring new life into a world as seemingly hopelessly corrupted as this one.
If you're really interested in talking more about this, just mention it in a future letter. In a nutshell, I'm speaking from a Kurzweillian, singularitarian perspective more or less. Are you familiar with that?
