"UCI HANGING UPDATE"
By Ronald W.Clark Jr.
Its been one week since I reported on the suicide here at UCI, that took place on April 3, 2020. Well I found out, he was a white male, last name was possibly Robinson, and the suicide took place in V-dorm, which is one of the close management isolation units, that's located right in front of P-dorm death row housing. Now I've currently discovered that this is the second suicide in that dorm this year. I'm getting conflicting information on when this other suicide took place but the inmates name was possibly Rodriguez. I am however working with the French coalition against the death penalty to substantiate the names, age and race of both individuals who have fallen victim to these unbearable conditions of human torture, that is solitary confinement. These cages are scientifically proven to destroy the human mind, body and soul of the victims that endure this hellish "torture", that is solitary confinement. Scientific studies have proven that "All individuals subject to solitary confinement will...experience a degree of stupor, difficulties concentrating, obsessional thinking, irritability, and difficulty tolerating stimuli. Anxiety, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychosis, hallucinations, paranoia, claustrophobia and suicidal ideations are common results found in these scientific studies. This is not a joking matter!! Yet the FDOC seems to put more emphasis on a cell inspections, that the actual mental health of the inmates that are suffering from these unbearable conditions of solitary confinement. And the fact that we've got two "CONFIRMED SUICIDES" in the same dorm, this year, should be enough of a realization that immediate action needs to be taken to ensure that we don't have a third suicide. For one suicide, is one too many!! What has taken place here, is inexcusable! These conditions in and of themselves are unconstitutional and down right inhumane!! We need change here in the state of Florida, a state that has a history and current statistics of over use of solitary confinement. Please send letters of protest to FDOC Secretary Mark Inch and Governor Ron DeSantis and call for them to bring about the necessary change to end these torturous conditions of isolation. Thank you for your time and help.
Sincerely Ronald W. Clark jr.
