FDOC COVID-19 DEATHS
By Ronald W. Clark Jr.
Learned today April 16, 2020 that J-Dorm here at UCI is under quarantine for a possible COVID-19 infection. They've also just passed out face masks for all the inmates here at UCI, even here on death row. Making it mandatory that they be worn even in our cells. The bad thing is we're already in isolation quarantine! This is ridiculous, and here's why.

For over a month and a half they haven't taken this virus serious. Now two inmates die of COVID-19 at Blackwater C.I. and they jump the gun and go extreme. Well if they were going to do that, they should have done it a month and a half ago, it might have saved them men's lives. Now look at this, they're makings wear these masks here in our cell, but this morning we're on the recreating yard, with 45 inmates unmasked, where it's absolutely impossible to keep the six foot CDC recommended distancing. Again we go from one extreme to another. Within a matter of two hours!! This is typical FDOC and their fraudulent facade we're doing their right thing! No no no!!! I think what it is, is the media's starting to look at the FDOC and are learning of these deaths by COVID-19 and they're getting nervous, knowing heads are going to roll when these wrongful death lawsuits start popping up. In fact last Wednesday or Thursday Marvin Jones died. He had medical conditions that made him highly susceptible to COVID-19. Someone might want to look into the fact, that COVID-19 may have been the cause of his hospitalization, where he slipped into a coma and died. It's worth of investigating due to the FDOC's highly unethical behavior and history of deception and dishonesty.

Back to what I was saying, there's been no masks being used. When food and juice is served back here, the inmates are talking over open cups of juice, that's being poured. Gloves go from now dirty contaminated cup to the next. Officers use the same pair of gloves to search 3, 4, 5 inmates before discarding the contaminated gloves. They excerpt numerous inmates with what is called a custodial touch, where they hold us by the elbow, without ever changing gloves. I've grieved this several times over the years. Last time was September 2019, only to have the grievance denied. Yet it's a serious health and safety issue that puts inmates at risk of MERSA, as well as other bacteria and viruses. You can't say you're taking COVID-19, and the lives of the inmates serious, when you see all this other reckless disregard for our health and safety in this cesspool of an environment. This is a petri dish for death! Marvin Jones family may want to look at a wrongful death suit. Cause all you see is deliberate indifference to human life inside this place. And the bad thing about it is, they know it. COVID-19 isn't coming, it's here! And we're going to see a lot of unnecessary deaths due to the reckless disregard for inmates in the FDOC. God bless you all. Take care and stay safe. And fight for the necessary changes we need. Sincerely Ronald W. Clark Jr. ®
